At Pepper Shapes, we’re more than just a surfboard company – we’re a community of passionate individuals driven by a love for the ocean and the art of surfing. Our journey began on the sun-kissed shores of the Central Coast, where the waves are our playground and the surf culture runs deep in our veins.

The Pepper Shapes Story

Pepper’s journey into board building started from humble beginnings in the garage of his family home as a teenager in 2009.

Pepper’s journey into board building started from humble beginnings in the garage of his family home as a teenager in 2009. He soon caught the bug and commenced work in the industry with Haydenshapes Surfboards in Mona Vale and then Rex Marechal of RMS Surfboards on the Central Coast, all while continuing to create his own boards. After gaining experience in laminating and sanding and as the obsession for surfboard design grew, Pepper decided to pursue his own independent brand and workspace as a means to create surfboards at his own pace. He has been fortunate enough to have had mentorship from experience and successful guys in the industry including Gary Loveridge, Carl Hassle, Mick Winters Andrew Mooney and Alan Jones.

In our eyes, each wave is a canvas, and every surfer, an artist. Our mission is to provide surfers with the ideal brush – a bespoke surfboard that allows them to express their unique style in the water.
